Security Police Department is a Legal Entity of Public Law of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which has been operating since 2004. The mission of the Security Police is to ensure the safety of citizens and create a healthy environment for their activities. Its main activity is the protection of property and personal security of legal entities / individuals, protection of objects of strategic importance for the country.
The Security Police is the service equipped with constantly renewable technologies.
Up to 14,576 objects have been protected by the Security Police on the whole territory of Georgia both by technical means and the police force. Among them are the important strategic facilities: international airports, national treasury, diplomatic missions accredited in the country, railways.
The Security Police Department ensures the prevention of crime and other offenses at protected facilities with modern and constantly updated technologies. For this purpose, the employee of the Security Police Department has the right to carry and use firearms and other special means in accordance with the rules established by the applicable legislation.
